Kripalu Yoga is considered the yoga of life. It interweaves the practice of Hatha (posture flow), Bhakti (devotion), Karma (selfull service), and Jnana (knowledge) yoga.
Kripalu Yoga focuses on nonjudgmental awareness, or witness consciousness and compassion with an open heart. It allows for the individual to develop a deeper connection with self. Kripalu Yoga teaches that as we practice on the mat, breathing through holding postures and focusing the mind, we can learn to create this same stillness off the mat. We can learn to consciously choose how to deal with life’s challenges, without irrationally reacting and acting with a fight or flight response. As we become more conscious in our actions and more compassionate beings, we can become better balanced, grounded, and connected with those around us.
